The easiest method to identify if a company is publicly traded is to enter the name of the company into your favorite search engine, and go directly to its main corporate website. Normally, if a company is publicly traded on any stock exchange, its website will include a navigation tab that will say “investor relations” or “about.” In these pages of the website, you can see if the company offers its shares to the public, and on which exchange it is traded. You may also see if a company is listed when you look up its name on many general financial websites, such as Google Finance or Yahoo! Finance.
