Many goddesses and some gods are directly associated with aspects of fertility. This group naturally includes the Great Mother Goddess and goddesses of love such as Aphrodite and Eros and the Sumerian Inanna. Dying and resurrecting gods such as Osiris and Baal are also clearly fertility deities and are celebrated as such.
