So how does this translate to their investment behavior?

When it comes to our 401k retirement plans, twenty-somethings invest nearly 46% of their total portfolio in equity mutual funds and company stock and only about 23% in stable fixed income, bond or cash funds. People in their sixties tend to invest only about 36% in equities or stock funds, and 47% in stable fixed income funds or guaranteed investment contracts (GICs).
