Who is Roy G. Biv?

The colors of the visible light spectrum, in order from long wavelength to short, can be remembered using the fictitious name “Roy G. Each individual color has a particular wavelength, and as the wavelength changes, the color changes to the next color on the spectrum. When combined with the appropriate intensities these colors form white light.
