After resigning his Senate seat, what did Tyler do?

Tyler returned to Virginia and won another seat in the Virginia House of Delegates in 1838 and became the body’s Speaker. He also took time to care for his wife Letitia, who had suffered a stroke. He lost an attempt to return to the U.S. Senate in 1839.
