Did he ever consider another run for the presidency after losing to Carter?

Yes, Ford seriously considered running for president in 1980. He feared that Republican Ronald Reagan might be too conservative and not able to defeat Carter. However, he decided against running. Reagan talked with Ford about having the former president be his vice presidential candidate, but no agreement could be reached.
