In what war did Roosevelt serve as mediator?

Roosevelt mediated between the Russians and the Japanese, who had been embroiled in the Russo-Japanese War of 1904 to 1905. The two countries sent representatives to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, which culminated in the Treaty of Portsmouth. For his efforts, Roosevelt received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1906.
