Harrison and his wife decided to move to Indianapolis. His cousin William Sheets, who had achieved success in business, had encouraged the young couple to move to that city. After a year practicing on his own, Harrison joined a practice with William Wallace, a flourishing attorney and the son of a former governor. The law firm of Wallace and Harrison prospered.
