What position did President Wilson offer Roosevelt?

President Woodrow Wilson appointed Roosevelt to the position of assistant secretary of the navy. Ironically, this was the same position that his famous cousin and former president Theodore Roosevelt had held back in 1897. Franklin Roosevelt pushed for the expansion of the navy and supported U.S. entry into World War I sooner than many of his contemporaries.
