When did Nixon serve in the U.S. House of Representatives?

Nixon served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1947 to 1950. He won his position by upsetting incumbent Democrat Jerry Voorhis. He served on the House Education and Labor Committee. He also served as a member of the House Un-American Activities Committee. In that capacity, Nixon questioned Alger Hiss, a former government attorney accused of espionage.
