How many flowers need to be tapped for bees to gather enough nectar to produce one pound of honey?

Bees must gather 4 pounds (1.8 grams) of nectar, which requires the bees to tap about two million flowers, in order to produce 1 pound (454 grams) of honey. The honey is gathered by worker bees, whose life span is three to six weeks, long enough to collect about a teaspoon of nectar.
