How much heat will 100 cubic feet of natural gas provide?

One hundred cubic feet of natural gas can provide about 100,000 BTUs (British thermal units) of heat. A British thermal unit, a common energy measurement, is defined as the amount of energy required to raise one pound of water by 1°F.
