Is there life on Mars?

The answer to this question still remains inconclusive. Data from the Phoenix mission to Mars confirmed the existence of water-ice in 2008. Results of the Viking soil sample data have been disputed. Microfossil-like imprints contained in meteorites that originated from Mars may indicate early forms of life. Exploration of Mars continues with the Mars Exploration Rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, the Mars Odyssey Orbiter, and the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
