What are the major organs of the digestive system? |
The digestive system consists of the upper gastrointestinal tract, the lower gastrointestinal tract, and the accessory organs. The organs of the upper gastrointestinal tract are the oral cavity, esophagus, and stomach. The organs of the lower gastrointestinal tract are the small intestine and large intestine (also called the colon). The accessory organs are the salivary glands, the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.
