Renewable and Alternative Energy

When was the first geothermal power plant built?

The first geothermal power station was built in 1904 in Larderello, Italy, by Prince Piero Conti. The Prince attached a generator to a natural steam-driven engine to produce enough power to illuminate five light bulbs. In 1913 the first geothermal power plant with a capacity of 250 kilowatts was installed.
