Seven major volcanoes in the contiguous 48 states are considered active: two in California—Lassen Peak, and Mt. Shasta; four in Washington—Glacier Peak, Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier, and Mt. St. Helens; and one in Oregon—Mt. Hood.
