Meteorology is certainly one of the better careers you can go into in terms of income, stress level, satisfaction, working environment, physical demands, and employment outlook. In its ranking of 250 careers in the United States, the sixth (2002) edition of the Jobs Ranked Almanac placed meteorologist as thirteenth. While this is somewhat lower than the seventh ranking it earned in the previous edition, it is a lot higher than the thirty-eighth place it had in the fourth edition, so it seems to be moving up.
