What concerns did John address in his letter to Sardis?

For the most part, John’s letter to the Christians in Sardis was one of warning. John scolded them for being sleepy in their faith. “If therefore thou shalt not watch,” Jesus told John to say, “I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.” (KJV, Revelation 3:3)
