What has Carter done with respect to North Korea?

President Bill Clinton sent Carter on a secret diplomatic mission to try to negotiate with North Korean leaders on their continued nuclear testing facilities. Carter secured an agreement that led to a treaty between the two countries. He also traveled to North Korea on his own to secure the release of U.S. citizen and Christian missionary Aijalon Mahli Gomes. Carter was successful in his venture.
