What was a bit different about Tyler’s new wife, Julia?

At age twenty-three, she was the youngest first lady in history. She was given to extravagant displays and preoccupation with titles. Her press agent came up with her title of “The Lovely Lady Presidentress.” She also ordered that the song “Hail to the Chief” be played whenever her husband appeared at official and public events.

She also interjected herself in political discussions. For example, she actively supported the annexation of Texas.
